Enough food in airtight container for 7-10 days. Medicines / Medical records / Collar/harness with ID tag / Leash / Crate or pet carrier / Litter box / Plastic bags / Pet's favorite toys / Picture of you and your animal
Sleeping bag or warm blanket for each blanket.
A complete change of clothing for each person which includes long sleeved shirts and long pants with sturdy shoes.
Matches or lighters in a watertight container.
Feminine products / toothbrush / shampoo / etc.
To document damage to your property after the storm.
Be sure to have cash in small bills. Some businesses may not be able to make change or be able to process credit card transactions.
Driver's license or state ID and a list of medications and allergies. Put these items in a water tight container or bag.
Have your cell phone charged along with extra batteries and charge cables.
Remove and secure outdoor items / Trim dead branches from trees / board-up windows
Move furniture away from windows
Put fuel in tanks of vehicles and other approved fuel containers.
Put documents such as social security cards, marriage license, property deeds, insurance information, and other important documents in an airtight container.
Have 2 coolers ready with ice. One for food and the other for drinks.
Have your generator fueled and ready for use. Remember to put your generator in a well ventilated area. Carbon monoxide is an odorless gas that is produced by generators and other machinery.
